SMS, Inc. was incorporated in June 2002 and is located in Springfield, Vermont, the heart of Precision Valley. We have teamed up with Sturbridge Metallurgical Services in order to offer the full range of materials testing and analysis as well as a complete line of metallurgical supplies, including new and used equipment.

Our mission is to provide engineers, manufacturers and users of structural materials with reliable data on composition and properties of materials and to offer expert advice when needed. A recognized authority on non-ferrous alloys used in aerospace and biomedical fields, we have a proven track record when it comes to steels, ceramics or polymers.

We have a growing list of satisfied customers who appreciate the responsiveness and expertise that SMS, Inc. offers. Our closest customers are local, but we also have clients in Europe and in the Carribean.

Located on the third floor of the Lovejoy Tool Company building, SMS, Inc. has 2400 sq ft of office and laboratory space. Equipment is on-site for chemical analysis, mechanical testing and corrosion tests. We are conveniently located downtown, minutes away from Interstate 91.

SMS, Inc. is registered as a Central Contractor with the Defense Logistics Agency and as a US Agent with the Food and Drug Administration. Since May 2003 SMS, Inc. has been certified by the Vermont Agency of Transportation as a woman-owned, small, disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE).
